About the session

This session is part of Aan’s Life Skills Education Initiative (LSEI) — designed to equip trainers and frontline facilitators with the knowledge, tools, and facilitation approaches required to support adolescents in building essential life skills for personal, social, and future readiness.

The initiative draws from nationally and globally recognised life skills frameworks and is grounded in field realities across rural and semi-urban contexts. While in-person sessions are always more immersive, this virtual ToT is designed to provide a structured, interactive, and highly practical learning experience for trainers.

We conducted one such on Life Skills ToT session in collaboration with YouthReach at the at the YouthReach Computer Center in Bawal, Rewari district, Haryana on 26 February, 2026.

The session resulted in a fundamental shift from programme delivery to system strengthening for the participants.

The training was embedded within a broader ecosystem of digital literacy, vocational training, and community learning. This ensured that the impact extended beyond individuals to the systems that support them.

Participants moved through a structured journey—from understanding life skills to practising facilitation—resulting in strong improvements in confidence and readiness.

Here’s what Manita, one of the participants, shared about her experience:

“The training helped me understand how life skills can be taught through simple conversations, activities, and real-life situations. I especially appreciated the safe and interactive environment, which gave me more confidence to communicate with young people and facilitate sessions in my community.”
